Renewable Energy Engineer

  • Conduct research to analyze engineering feasibility and design of wind, solar, and electric power generators, using LandGate’s proprietary SaaS valuation software tool, mechanical engineering knowledge, and software Solidworks or NX; 

  • Research and analyze electrical, solar farm, and wind turbine infrastructure assets (e.g., electric utilities - substations, interconnection queues, power transmission and distribution lines and Local Marginal Price Nodes) and power grid data to evaluate feasibility and inefficiencies of connecting to power generators, using mechanical engineering knowledge and Python and SQL coding;

  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, specifications, and environmental regulations.

  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate or minimize system malfunctions.

  • Provide technical customer service and support as needed and assist with onboarding new clients with using LandGate products; 

  • Calculate energy efficiencies and prepare land Net Asset Valuations (NAV) Reports for customers (renewable energy developers); 

  • Solicit new business and support sales efforts by establishing relationships with renewable energy developers, investors, and bankers, host live demonstrations for prospective customers. 


Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in a Mechanical Engineering (Foreign Equivalent is OK). 


Experience: NONE


Special Requirements: EIT Licensure (Professional Engineering)


Alternative Education/Experience Accepted


Education : Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering (Foreign Equivalent is OK). 


Experience: 2 years experience in 

  • Mechanical engineering design and modeling using Solidworks or NX 

  • Python and SQL coding

  • Wind turbine or solar farm design 

  • Power grids, electric utilities, and electrical infrastructure


Other Requirements: 

  • EIT Licensure (Professional Engineering)

  • Academic work must be in the following:

    • in wind turbine or solar farm design

    • in power grids, electric utilities and electrical infrastructure
